Educational licenses are available to universities, colleges and other institutions of higher education that award bachelor’s,
master’s or doctoral degrees, and where the software is used by students as part of their course or project work.
The educational versions of EFD – FloEFD.V5, FloEFD.Pro and FloEFD are identical to those used within industry. These are all
full versions of EFD, with no restrictions on the physical models available or the mesh size.
Yes, provided you’re a faculty member we can provide a 3-month evaluation copy free-of-charge. Just fill out the
request form for an evaluation and we’ll email you a license agreement to sign
and fax back so we can send you instructions on how to download the software.
For teaching we provide a suite of EFD license keys locked to a central server. The software comes with a set of fully-documented
textbook style example cases which you can easily build into your course curriculum.
Yes, provided the research is both non-commercial and is being carried out within a degree-granting higher educational institution,
for example as part of a masters or doctoral degree or as publicly funded post-doctoral research. We request that you acknowledge the
EFD product used and version in any publications.
We define non-commercial research as internally-funded research, and research funded by public funding bodies being carried out within
a degree-granting higher educational institution.
Research undertaken by research institutes that are themselves funded by industry consortia is classed as commercial research.
For commercial research please contact your local sales office for a quotation.
We charge a standard license fee per key for educational use to cover our third-party royalty and administration costs.
Educational licenses are for 3 years and are inclusive of software updates and patches.
If you need an official quotation, this can be requested in your local currency.
To order the educational version of EFD, complete the quotation request form and we will
send you an official quotation.
We provide access to the support web site, but do not provide telephone or email support for educational licenses unless this is
purchased separately. Please contact your local sales office for a quotation for telephone and email support.
No, we do not currently provide personal copies for students.
